The Vesta stair lift by AmeriGlide includes many optional custom features you can add to your stair lift package to suit your exact needs. One great example of such custom features is the flip-up rail. The bottom of your stair lift's track rail will include a hinged section that allows you to lift and lower it to provide additional space for walking around the lift track or opening and closing nearby doors and closets.
Choose a flip-up rail for your Vesta if any of the following apply to your stair case and stair lift configuration:
- You have a door at the bottom of the stair case opposite the bottom step that can't be opened or closed when the stair lift chair is fully descended.
- There is a door or closet at or within 12 inches of the bottom step on the same side of the stairwell that the stair lift and track are located.
- If there is a high traffic area where the stair lift meets the floor and you want to prevent trips and falls.
